Every mission proves you’re genuinely up, entirely on your device. Camera missions (sky photo, make your bed, nature hunts…) have you take a live photo in the moment — your proof, never saved. Movement missions (push-ups, squats, shake) count reps with the motion sensors. Spoken missions are heard by on-device speech recognition. Nothing is recorded, stored, or uploaded — the alarm simply stops once the mission is done.

Correct. There’s no snooze control on the ring screen, the Lock Screen, or in settings. The only way to stop the alarm is to complete your mission.

Yes. Ryser schedules real system alarms through Apple’s alarm engine, which is designed to sound through silent mode and Focus settings the same way the built-in Clock app does.

Open the app and go to Settings → Alarm → “Alarm not working?” — it runs a live health check on your permissions and scheduled alarms, and lets you ring a test alarm in one minute. Common culprits: alarm or notification permission turned off, volume all the way down, or the phone powered off overnight.

There’s an emergency exit on every mission — but it’s earned, not free. It takes a deliberate wait and a press-and-hold, and using it breaks your streak. You’re never dead-ended, but the honest way out is through.

Your streak is a hot-air balloon. Each on-time, mission-verified wake-up lifts it higher — from the launch field to the treetops (1 day), above the clouds (7), the high sky (30), and among the stars (50). Miss a morning and the balloon drifts back down.

Missing verification for a scheduled alarm — or taking the emergency exit — ends the streak for that alarm. There are no streak freezes or forgiveness days by design.

No. Mission photos are taken live in the moment as your proof — they aren’t saved, uploaded, analysed, or reviewed by anyone. What’s logged is the timestamp and pass/fail result, not the image itself.
