Privacy Policy

Ryser ("the app", "we") is built privacy-first: your alarms, streaks, and wake-up data live on your device — not on our servers. This policy explains what information the app touches, how it’s used, and the choices you have.

Data stays on your device

Ryser does not require an account and does not operate its own cloud storage. Your alarms, wake-up history, streaks, altitude progress, wake receipts, and preferences are stored locally on your iPhone. If you delete the app or use "Delete Account" in Settings, this data is permanently erased from the device. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.

Camera missions

Missions like Sky Photo, Make Your Bed, Face Splash, the object / pet / nature hunts, custom photo targets, and code scanning ask you to take a live photo or scan in the moment. Those photos are proof for you, not a test set by the app — they are not analysed, scored, or checked in any way, and they are never recorded, stored, or uploaded. The app cannot access your camera outside an active mission, and iOS shows the camera indicator whenever it is in use.

Motion, steps & microphone missions

Movement missions (push-ups, squats, sit-ups, shake) count reps using the device’s motion sensors, and the Steps mission uses the pedometer. Spoken missions (affirmations, verses) use on-device speech recognition to hear you say the words. All of this is processed in the moment, on the device; no motion data, step counts, or audio recordings are stored or transmitted. What’s logged is the timestamp and pass/fail result of the mission — never the sensor data itself.

Subscriptions & purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. To manage subscription entitlements, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated identifier and purchase receipts from Apple — never your name, email, or payment information. You can read RevenueCat’s privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Notifications & alarms

The app asks for notification permission (and, where supported, system alarm access) solely to ring your alarms — including through Silent mode and Focus. Scheduling happens on-device. We do not use notifications for marketing without your consent.

No tracking, no ads, no data sales

Ryser contains no third-party advertising, no ad trackers, and no analytics that profile you across other apps or websites. We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal information — we don’t collect it in the first place.

Children’s privacy

Ryser is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because all data stays on-device, no child’s data is transmitted to us.

Your rights & choices

Because your data lives on your device, you’re always in control: view it in the app, and erase it with "Delete Account" in Settings or by removing the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights such as access, correction, and deletion. To exercise any right or ask a question, email us — we respond to all requests.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
